Abstract

    Autobiography, or what has been known as self-writing, has held significant interest since ancient times. It is a literary genre concerned with reality, reflecting the human experience of the writer. Autobiography is considered one of the oldest forms of literary expression, known in Arabic tradition as tarjama. It is a genre that belongs to self-narrative, in which the writer recounts the story of their life, highlighting key personal, intellectual, and social milestones. Autobiography is characterized by the unique relationship between the writer and the text, where the writer merges with the narrator and the main character. Thus, autobiography is the transfer of memory into writing, articulated in an elegant and refined literary style, incorporating an essential criterion that distinguishes it from other narrative genres.
