This study aims to examine the environmental impact of the geographical distribution of waste dump sites in Al-Suwaira District, with a focus on their effects on the region’s biotic and environmental factors. Field data were collected regarding the locations of the dumps, daily waste quantities, and types of waste generated. Spatial variation was analyzed using geographic information system (GIS) techniques to identify the most affected areas. The results indicated that the unplanned distribution of waste dump sites has led to significant deterioration of the biotic environment, increased risks of soil, surface, and groundwater pollution, and a decline in biodiversity in the surrounding areas. The study emphasizes the necessity of planning dump sites based on sound environmental and geographical principles, and adopting integrated waste management systems to mitigate the negative impacts on the biotic environment.
