Achievability of Quality Education Standards in Urban Nineveh Primary and Secondary Schools from Principals’ Viewpoints

Abstract

This paper examines how far quality education standards are achievable from the viewpoints of selected secondary and primary principals across urban Nineveh schools. To realize this end, 92 Nineveh-based schools (46 primary schools/ 46 secondary schools) were selected as a sample for the analysis. These schools are led by 92 principals (f=53/ m=39). As for research methodology, it is a 32-item test. The designed test reliability has been verified by face-value validity and stability. Test stability has been validated through a test-retest technique, and thus the final test items rendered 28. The statistical processing of the test responses has been achieved by percentile computation and z-test. Test results have shown that quality education standards in primary schools ranged from medium to good, item no.6 in primary schools (The school manages human assets efficiently) has been found to be the lowest standard, quality education standards in secondary schools ranged from acceptable to good, and item no. 6 in secondary schools (The school manages human assets efficiently) has been found to be the lowest standard, too. The paper, finally, proposes several recommendations, suggestions, and tips that can further help achieve quality education standards in schools.
