The Effect of a Training Program Based on Illustrated Stories on Developing Temporal Awareness in Kindergarten Children

Abstract

    The present study aimed to investigate the effect of a training program based on temporal stories in developing temporal awareness among kindergarten children. The study sample consisted of (60) children, aged (5–6) years, from the second level in Al-Nasaem and Al-Aqhawane kindergartens affiliated with the General Directorate of Education in Baghdad/Al-Karkh First. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group that received the proposed training program, and a control group that continued with regular conditions without the program. The researcher adopted the experimental method and used a temporal awareness scale (developed by the researcher), which consisted of (20) items distributed across four main dimensions. The results revealed a significant positive effect of temporal stories in enhancing temporal awareness among kindergarten children, confirming the importance of the training program in achieving the intended objectives.
