Abstract

        This research examines Condillac's empiricism and its role in establishing his theory of sensory knowledge. It begins by questioning the origin and primary source of human knowledge, exploring the philosophical foundations of empiricism, which posits sensation as the primary source of all ideas and mental processes. The research also demonstrates how ideas and mental faculties are generated through the gradual progression of sensory experience, using the statue as a model for interpreting human consciousness and knowledge. Furthermore, it elucidates the role of language in formulating meanings, highlighting mental activity, and developing mental processes. Condillac emphasizes sensation as the central and primary source of all knowledge, revealing the underlying philosophy of sensory experience through a metaphysical transformation that unites the sensory and the intellectual. This perspective has established Condillac as one of the most important representatives of French empiricism in modern philosophy.
