The Reading Space in the Conclusions of Fayd al-Khatir’s Essays

Abstract

    This research is directed to study the conclusion in a literary genre that has a value and position in literary world, i.e. the essay. It opts for discovering the prominent status that a conclusion has as an equivalent text forming the identity of essay text, principally in the era of literary renaissance specifically in the essays of Ahmad Ameen in his book                (Faidhu Al-Khatir). The conclusion, as this research found, is not merely a summary or an end of the essay text, but it is a paratext of different significance due to different strategies and styles adopted by the writers to form this structure in order to load and charge it with pragmatic energies which grant the reader his/her status to interact and re-produce the text, or bridge the gaps. Therefore, it is considered an essential element in forming the artistic structure of the literary work.

In order to achieve its aims, this research adopted the analytical descriptive methodology along with some mechanisms of (reading the reading) methodology, i.e. the deep reading of texts to trace the types of conclusion; their characteristics and their relationships with texts in addition to its effect on the reader. It also highlights the ability of the writer to form this structure to provoke the reader and amalgamate him/her in the text. Thus, this research found that a conclusion is the climax and the end of the essay interaction, and has a stand out significance for both the innovator and the recipient
