Abstract

This paper questions the controversial traditions regarding the exegesis of the Quranic verses as accounted in the Twelver Shia versions of Quranic interpretation. There have been two trends in Quranic exegesis; fundamentalist and traditionalist accounts and narratives. These two variant trends have been so controversial and problematic as they both adhere to the Quranic scriptures as a premise of argumentation.
