Authoritarian style and its relationship to rumination among mothers of kindergarten children

Abstract

      The current research aims to identify (the authoritarian style and its relationship to rumination among mothers of kindergarten children). To achieve the research objectives, the following hypotheses were formulated:

1- There were no statistically significant differences on the authoritarian style scale among mothers of kindergarten children.

2- There were no statistically significant differences on the rumination scale among mothers of kindergarten children.

3- The correlation between authoritarian style and rumination among mothers of kindergarten children.

The researcher used appropriate statistical methods for the research (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, hypothetical mean, correlation coefficient, and Pearson). The research also reached the following conclusions:

1- Mothers of kindergarten children practice an authoritarian approach to dealing with their children. This is a result of the daily social pressures they experience.

2- Mothers ruminate as a result of the customs and traditions of Iraqi families and the social circumstances they live in.

3- There is a correlation between mothers' authoritarian approach and rumination.
